Work Spaces
Ensuring that a work environment has the right energy to ensure that both employees as well as customers feel comfortable is a paramount concern for businesses. As employees often spend more hours in their workspace than they do in their own living spaces, it is critical to ensure that the space works for the benefit of all the people who interact in the space.

A consultation is an excellent idea when looking for a new office space, when moving to a home-working environment, or when a noticeable change happens in relationships with employees, customers, or suppliers. All kinds of businesses can benefit from consultations, whether it is a small home office, a shop, a design consultancy, to a medium to large-sized corporation. Also an excellent time for a consultation is when a business seems stuck in a rut, or the energy needs refreshed within a work environment.

When to have a work space consultation?
A workspace consultation is a good idea if an owner or key employee of a business feels one or more of the following:

Employee issues
- high rates of absenteeism or turnover
- conflict between employees and or management

Customer issues
- loss of long-term or profitable customers
- large increase in customer complaints

Change issues
- office move or renovations
- company strategy changes
- redundancy periods and changes in management teams

Marketing issues
- low response from the marketplace, despite promoting or advertising
- low traffic, in a restaurant, or store

What is involved in a work space consultation?
It is important that the consultation is requested by either the owner of the business or a key employee of the organisation. First there will be a discussion of company objectives and any issues the company has faced in the past 12 months, and any changes that you would like to see happen. During the consultation a full analysis of the workspace and if needed, an analysis of things such as arrangement of office space for key employees will be considered. The consultation can be under a full non-disclosure contract and can be as discrete as required, with work done out of office hours if needed.

The following are areas which can be examined, depending on what is needed in the workspace consultation:

- assistance in the selection of building site or space
- if building out a business, selection in where key workspaces and offices should sit for key employees
- assistance in choice of colour for offices or for logo development (brand identity)
- assistance in selection of decorative objects (art) to ensure a positive flow of energy
- consultations on clutter and storage management
- check for geopathic stress
- EMF check and recommendations to ensure that employees do not get 'sick office' syndrome (environmental safety)
- integration of plants in interiors as well as design of exterior landscaping
- assistance in room/office allocation (for example, which rooms would be optimal for break rooms, which for conferences/ideas generation)
- customer enhancement - this can range from customer waiting areas to the layout of goods in a shop environment for optimal consumer benefit

This is a small example of some of the things that can be examined for a business. As no two businesses are the same a consultation will be tailored to meet the needs of the business. The only constant will be the written summary at the end with all recommendations.

How much is a typical consultation?
A typical workspace consultation for a small office or small business, such as a small store or shop is $750. For medium to large sized businesses, a fee will be quoted which is typically per square metre/foot or an hourly rate, depending on the size and scope of the project.
